Hi, my name is Megan. I call the Mornington Peninsula my second home having spent countless days, sharing holidays with my families coming up to 53 years! I have always had a passion for photography in capturing lifetime moments and creating memories through the lens of my camera. My main working role is a Palliative nurse specialist and I have grown through experience to understand how important life moments are and how to treasure them through my photography

What does Megan love about the Mornington Peninsula?
What I love about the Mornington Peninsula and taking photos is that everywhere you look, an adventure waits for you. Whether or not you have a professional camera or even your iPhone in hand, beautiful memories can be made and cherished forever in this special place.
If you’re like me and looking for a peaceful getaway to some of the most beautiful beaches watching the sunrise or sunset, you have come to the right place.
Here are my top 5 photography locations on the Pen.
Sorrento front beach
This cute little jetty is located right in front of The Baths restaurant in Sorrento. A beautiful beach to spend your day with a picnic, soaking up the sun or even wining and dining at the restaurant itself offers magical views of the bay from your table. From here, you can also reach by foot the beautiful local shops, bars and restaurants or take a half day trip dolphin watching, so be sure to have your camera ready. If you’re lucky enough, you may even spot a dolphin from the beach.
Shelley beach, Portsea
Pay close attention to the light… left hand side handles of the pier, an early morning rise for this capture with the sun to guide us on the right…an amazing beach day destination right here for a beautiful seaside day escape. Great for a start up chai latte or cap, my local favourite visit https://www.blairgowriecafe.com.au/ If you like solitude and peace… this beach is yours…enjoy!
Capel Sound
Low tides at this amazing beach brings endless relaxing walks on these incredible sandbars. Here you will find kids playing beach cricket, families sharing fish n chips on the beach and you may even spot some pelicans here. Great time to capture reflections of sunrise/sunset against the ripples in the sand. This image captured with my iPhone.
No 16 beach, RYE
Ready for star gazing heaven?! I was in luck capturing the Aurora Australis on this special night. Typically you cannot see this colourful glow with the naked eye however on a clear night you can definitely enjoy the galaxy and spot shooting stars above. Lookout platforms are located here. When visiting any ocean beach like this, always be sure to check the tides for your safety.
Dromana Pier
Drawn to the beautiful turquoise waters, I find myself always re visiting this place, especially for swimming. With flippers and snorkel in hand you can explore the turquoise waters right here under this beautiful old pier and surrounds. You can also take a walk on the pier and enjoy the views or just steps away from the beach, you will find a refreshing gelato amongst the many eateries on the local shopping strip.
