The Mornington Peninsula is a truly beautiful place to take photos, with local photographers regularly snapping award winning shots in all seasons. We have soured Mornington Peninsula local photographer, Lynne, from @florenceinmtmartha, to show us some of her favourite spots! Take a look below!
Hi, my name is Lynne. I’ve lived in Mount Martha since moving from the UK for 14 yrs now. Photography is my passion. I take my camera out for a “walk” when ever I can. Find me on Instagram @florenceinmtmartha
Whether it’s a sunrise or a sunset, winter, or summer there is always somewhere on the Peninsula
you can find to capture a beautiful moment with your camera. The landscape is so diverse
on the peninsula from the glorious calm beaches to the raw rugged beauty of the back beaches.
Through the bush land and the vineyards. These are some of my favourite spots to spend some
time with your camera.
Some of the best photography spots on the Mornington Peninsula
Safety Beach Pier.
A well-known landmark which looks stunning in all weathers and from all angles. My favourite time
here is sunset on a warm calm evening. Perhaps avoid the height of summer here when the tourists
flock.
Hastings Marina
The Marina is one of those places where you can capture some special sunrises, on the right day. If
you’re lucky enough, you may also meet the local Pelicans. You can capture not only the moored
boats but also the early morning fisherman hoping to catch big for the day.
Diamond bay.
Diamond bay is a rugged beautiful spot if you like some water movement and long exposure
opportunity. Be mindful of the tide when planning your trip. There are many beautiful walks and
lookouts in this area too.
Red Hill
Redhill is a photographer’s dream especially in Autumn I feel. The colour in the vines and the moods
you can capture in Autumn are very special. The drive around the peninsula looking for colour is a joy.
Autumn has to be my favourite time of year for photography. You may also find some mushrooms
to shoot or a woolly highland cow.
Millionaires Walk, Sorrento.
Once you’re through the slightly hidden large door, you open it to a whole different place.
Millionaires walk offers stunning piers and pretty boat houses. White crisp sand and blue waters. So
many different types of photography styles here. Good for a sunset too.
